Currently, I'm coaching a team of girls through Girls on the Run. It is such a great opportunity to provide an outlet for those girls that need "something more" than schools can provide. I love the curriculum and I encourage all parents to check it out for their daughter. I went to a coach's meeting before practice started and they shared with us this beautiful video. I thought I'd share it with you here. Check it out :)

I'm extremely excited to introduce you all to our 2015 Canned Food Drive!!! Student leadership will be leading this great cause :) We've decided to present the class with the most donations a special prize! North State Food Bank is providing us with barrels and will also be picking up all the cans from our school. How great is that? :)
More pictures to come. Stay tuned! LCC students were extremely excited to meet these two special friends on Friday at our Halloween Parade (see below) and I'm not talking about the bacon lady ;) Our office staff reminded the school of the most important meal of the day, which happens to be my favorite meal of the day! Our theme for today's Red Ribbon Week was"Peace Out Drugs," where students were encouraged to wear their tie-dye bracelets and/or tie-dye clothes. I was in awe with the number of students wearing tie-dye today! It was such a beautiful sight. Having spirit days like this one is such a simple and fun way to actively involve students in supporting a healthy school and community.
Below is a picture of the bracelets we got the students (I wish I took more photos today, but time wasn't on my side). The bracelets are reversible and with quotes on both sides. We ordered these bracelets from Positive Promotions and they're pretty quick with delivery. Just remember to order them early or else your favorites will be sold out! www.positivepromotions.com It's almost here! With Red Ribbon Week rearing its fabulous head, Little Chico Creek student leadership has been working hard to create a fun-filled week to promote awareness. Below you will see our schedule for the week of October 26-30. Get ready to show your commitment to supporting a drug-free school and community!
Question of the week: How do you say no to drugs? Parents, have you been introduced to the 12 tools? Here at LCC, students are taught 12 important tools that they can use at school and home. Does the breathing tool ring a bell? What about the quiet and safe play? Below you will see the 12 tools that students (starting in kindergarten) will be introduced to. Each tool is associated with a certain hand signal.
Goal of the week: Learn at last 5 tools and play a quick game of Toolbox charades with your child(ren)! |
